The City of Calumet City provides residents with an easy and environmentally friendly way to dispose of fall leaves.

Calumet City’s Leaf Pick-Up Program will begin on Monday, November 2 and will run until Friday, November 27. Residents are asked to rake or blow their leaves into one pile at either end of their parkway. Leaves should not be raked into the street.

The leaf pile should be kept free of wood, metal, bricks, and rocks. Grass clippings and other forms of yard waste are not allowed in leaf piles. Residences in violation will not be picked up and may be subject to fines.

The pickup days are as follows:

MONDAY Between State Line Road and Wentworth Avenue
TUESDAY Between Wentworth Avenue and Burnham Avenue
WEDNESDAY Between Burnham Avenue and Torrence Avenue
THURSDAY Between Torrence Avenue and Paxton Avenue
FRIDAY Between Paxton Avenue and Stony Island Avenue

Residents with questions should call the Public Works Department at (708) 891-8160. If residents witness a landscaper dumping yard waste illegally, it should be reported immediately.
